06.19.2019 - Sirsy @ Presque Isle Sunset Music Series
The first time I heard Sirsy was at the UPMC Sunset Music Series at Presque Isle State Park here in Erie a couple years ago. We went on a whim, knew nothing about the band, and came home as Sirsy fans.
This was actually our third time seeing the husband and wife duo in 2019 (they also played Union Station and Bourbon Barrel over the winter) but it was my favorite by far. Not only did we get to take Amelia (who loved the provided hula hoops) but it was warmer, more spread out, and it was on the shores of our beautiful great lake.
I don't just love this band, but I love their determination and drive. Lead singer Melanie Krahmer has beat back cancer twice and they just keep on rock and rolling through it all. Their newest album is an ode to overcoming obstacles in life and pursuing your happiness in whatever manner you're passionate about.
